Official: Russia’s inflation to amount to around 4% in 2020

MOSCOW, Nov 20 (PRIME) – Russia’s consumer price inflation index will amount to around 4% in 2020, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov told reporters on Friday.

In October, Russia’s inflation amounted to 3.99% in annual terms. The inflation forecast of the Economic Development Ministry for 2020 is 3.8%.

When asked about the ministry’s inflation expectations taking into account that the ministry’s forecast is outdated, Belousov said, “So far, we assume that the forecast is not outdated, and that we expect inflation to amount to around 4%. It will be somewhere close to 4%. It may be slightly higher, but not significantly … as the rate has stabilized.”
